For the procedures and the costs of obtaining motorcycle driving license in the Emirate of Sharjah, please follow below:

Register through Sharjah driving institute branches or login the website www.sdi.ae and submit the required documents and pay either the minimum or full fees.

Students applying for a motorcycle driving license should enroll in the 25 training classes category.

Trainees are required to wear the uniform to maintain the safety of the trainee during training and examination. In case of non-compliance, the training or examination will be canceled.

Note:

One of the requirements of motorcycle training is that the applicant must be at least 17 years old.

 

Five theoretical lectures are held in one day and the trainee can choose to attend these lessons in two periods:

  • lectures are theoretical classes through which trainees are introduced to the important parts of the vehicle, how to be prepared for driving outside and inside the vehicle, the main international traffic signals, how to use the tracks, the preventive leadership basics and the factors causing accidents using modern teaching methodologies which prepares the trainee for the practical training after passing his theoretical examination.
  • Theoretical lectures are given in separate halls at different times that suits all [men or women] in three different languages: Arabic, English and Urdu.
  1. Morning: 8am to 1pm.
  2. Evening: from 2 pm to 8 pm.

Theory Test

After the trainee completes the theoretical lectures, he will undergo to a theoretical examination using the computer system, where he can choose between three languages (Arabic, English or Urdu).

For those trainees who are illiterate, they can attend the exams by listening to the questions through a system which reads the questions in three languages as well.

The main points of the theoretical examination:

  1. The examination consists of 25 questions in total.
  2. The minimum correct answers required to pass is 18 answers.
  3. The duration of the test is 20 minutes.
  4. Free examination fee for the first time, and in case of failure, the trainee will have to pay exam repetition fee (AED 50).

  1.  Traffic signals.
  2.  Use of paths and intersections.
  3.  Accident causes and how to avoid it.
  4.  General questions about laws and traffic safety.
  5.  Videos clips that show the correct and incorrect behaviors.

The Practical training for motorcycle driving has two phases. The first phase is the initial training which takes place in the field within the institute. This phase includes the following:

  1. Use a motorcycle.
  2. Move and stand in a safe manner.
  3. Control of Motorcycle.
  4. Rotation as figure (8).
  5. maneuvering between cones.

 

This examination is carried out in a dedicated field within the Institute based on the use of a motorcycle, control of motorcycle, rotation in figure (8), maneuvering between cones, control of the transmission.

After successfully passing this stage, the second stage is the road training.

Traffic inspection fee is AED 300.
